Unique Political Atmosphere In Far Northwest Side Wards Progress Illinois

  1. The writer of this article calls out Garrido for dropping his republican affiliations and becoming an independent for this race, but doesn't do that for Gavin. And Gavin was annointed by the former Republican alderman and has worked for a partisan organization for decades. Gavin is just as fair weathered as the 45th ward guy and should be noted for that flip flop as well as many other flip flops we have seen this election season.

  2. Gavin's recent switch to being an "independent" is nothing but fake and phoney. Come April 6, 2011, no matter what happens she will be a republican again - just watch.

How many flip flops will happen once in office?

  6. To 9:36 A.M: Definition of jello flip flop. Candidate: I am not in favor of raising the state income tax. O'Connor has me appointed State Senator and the special intersts spend over $800,000 to get me elected. One of the first votes: "John you have to vote to raise the state income tax by over 66%." Ok

  7. An intersting note. Progress Illinois who wrote the article that is the subject of this comment section is the "news paper/letter" financed by the SEIU. The SEIU lobbied big time for the state income tax increase and supported Mulroe in a huge way. The SEIU is also supporting O'Connor and supports increasing city taxes (including property taxes) as opposed to cutting waste. Facts help form sound opinions.

  8. As I have stated before, Gavin has been a registered Democrat as recently as the 2008 primaries as she has said in numerous forums. Just because she works in that office does not make her a Republican.
Also, Doherty has endorsed and helped Democrats get elected in the past...e.g. Mary O'Connor for Democratic Committeewoman in 2008.

  9. What prompted you to say that, 10:36?

  11. Arena's commercial is pretty good, I bet he wins. The Cullerton commercial is overboard - rats and roaches all over Carravette

  12. Would have been nice if Gavin acted like an Independent all these years and said something. Her independency is as phoney as phoney can be and is out there for all to see.

  14. Yes, this is a "Unique Political Atmosphere".. neither candidate admits their partisan relationships and....

They not only don't know who they are, they don't know what's going on.
