Rahm wants more high schools to reverse drop out rates and keep middle class families in the city
If they would just leave Taft for the people of the area, we would be fine. Every day Nagle and Northwest Highway is loaded with kids from no where near 41 or 45. O'Connor says she is in favor of vouchers. Only trouble with that is every voucher program ever proposed only applies to lower income families. Once again the hard working people of 41(union and non union) will get it stuck up you know where. Just like the 66% income tax increase. Fool me once shame on you-- fool me twice shame on me.
My kids will be graduating from elementary school in three and four years. I will not send them to Taft because of the overcrowding and I will not send them to a private school and pay these property taxes. So, we will be moving in the next two years.
Let's face it. No matter who wins, 41 will not get a new school of any kind. We are the lost step children. Pay higher and higher taxes of all kinds and watch every one else get taken care of. Best we can hope for is to elect people who will fight for lower taxes. Every thing is back words. Policy should encourage the lazy to work and not punish the hard working people who are the back bone of this city, county, state and country. I'm tired of it. And Taft is over crowded with people from what wards? Not 41 and 45.
Gonzalez said he was going to tackle the high school problem in the 41st ward. Maybe someone can tap him to set up a special task force to get the ball rolling. He seemed like a "get it done guy".
you know, the tech/manufacturing high school idea is interesting. It may help to attract light manufacturing businesses to the Northwest Highway Industrial Corridor...
we sure need a new high school in the 41st. Put the 41st on the TOP of the list.

ReplyDeleteI think we need a technical high school in the 41st. Leave the college tract and IB program at Taft.
ReplyDeleteGrade school expansions too
ReplyDeleteTech high schools are a good idea, as well as high schools that focus on manufacturing trades.
ReplyDeleteJust get rid of bussing and the social/economic tract system. Oh no, social liberals don't like to hear that. Yes to tea.
