  1. Well, I guess we are finally getting some press coverage. The last paragraph kind of hits the nail on the head for me...O'Connor has been making green bean casserole and chicken on the bone for such a long time, she even brings in a consultant every now and then...and then that translates into her "fighting for the 41st ward"? Er...Not sure if I see the connection there

  2. If she requires a consultant (every 5 years), she obviously has some kind of delusional view that she is some extremely important person in the area. I don't personally see it but maybe Im missing something.

  3. Both of these candidates are weak and quite frankly are not the best choices for the 41st. None of the news outlets/media really has a good feel for what has been going on in the 41st for years, and what the ward needs in terms of leadership for the future.

  4. Gavins no better. Nothing has come out of that ward office in 2 decades. If anything Gavin has enabled one of the most complacent do-nothing alderman in years.

  5. Totally disagree. Doherty did a good job in my opinion. Especially putting it to the voters to decided if they wanted tax dollars spent on a dog park at Brooks which did NOT pass. Plus his communication was always top notch. Always a returned phone call or email from him personally. Solid guy in my opinion. From my perspective he will be missed.

  6. will have to send an FOI request in for all of Doherty's emails.

BTW, what is his email address?

  7. a dog park, that is the best example of his leadership someone can come up with?

  9. Listen up. I dislike both candidates, but they are what we got to work with. Stop playing sides blastin' one or the other. 1)The questions better be hot and heavy at the debates. 2)
The debates better be televised and be standing room only. 3) People better stop talking s--- about one and not the other in their posts. Both have extensive baggage.

  10. Unimpressive candidates: a secretary and a deli owner. We are doomed.

  11. No wonder no one takes this ward seriously, look at the past and current leadership.
A joke. No leadership whatsoever. We had a few decent candidates in the election last week, who were bypassed because people in the ward didn't bother to educate themselves, go to forums. They look at lawn signs and now we have two candidates with no substance - the lawn sign candidates.

  12. I agree that we doomed ourselves. It's hard not to talk about the past knowing we had two great candidates to choose from. Kind of like the parking meter deal. Now we're paying for it up the ying Yang. O'Connor has no kids you think she'll care about the children's education system? NOT! Gavin isn't going to better the ward, she was Doherty's aide, you figure now she's going to revitalize what Doherty didn't or never did? NOT! If you didn't vote for Gavin of Doherty then don't force yourselves to choose. Let them figure out this nelson fight with their own followers!

  13. Stop talking about the two great candidates that you had last week. The site is biased toward those two. Really, take a step back and see how those two answered questions and how their answers swung based upon responses of other candidates at forums. One sounded great but did not have substance or life experience. The other had more baggage than this site ever even went into and provided answers that did not answer the questions. Ex: What is the one thing you would inprove in the ward? He answered 3 things...get real..anyone can come up with a pat answer, the challenge is answering the question straightforeward without fluff. A vote for Gavin continues the combine and helps McAlliff and Silvvvestri... A vote for O'Connor helps out the machine and continues with the Democratic white wash. We are doomed.

  15. Great - one candidate has no kids the other sent her kids to Immaculate Conception.

Unless you have kids or have kids in CPS Schools, Schools will not be a priority. I don't care what your Facebook or Website says.

  16. Gavin was endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police yesterday. I wonder who the Firemen will endorse?

  17. Trust this, Fraternal Order of Police are a bunch of old, tired, not up to date, getting ready to retire, will be the last bunch you'll ever see again. I bet they tossed the coin on this one because they just don't care about any issues anymore.

I bet the firemen will endorce Lapinski... still.

  18. good one with Lapinski. You're right, and they will probably give him another $5,000 large if he asks for more signs.
