Mr. John Quinn: Where Are Your Priorities?

Mr. Quinn:

Some of my readers are wondering why you attended a fundraiser for your campaign on January 13, 2011 from 7pm to 10pm at the Thatch instead of attending the Aldermanic Forum sponsored by the Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce at the very same time?  I saw the fundraising event posted on your Facebook page and wondered about your priorities?  I think this is a fair question.

Would you care to respond?

  2. Your question is valid and I appreciate the opportunity to answer it. On January 13th, I attended a fundraiser thrown on my behalf by friends and supporters. I felt it was very thoughtful of them to dedicate their time and I know a great deal of effort went into its organization. Plans for this event began several weeks ago, before I was invited to the Aldermanic Forum sponsored by the Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce.

The timing was unfortunate. I regret being unable to attend the forum. I appreciate every opportunity I have to speak and directly address the questions and concerns of this ward. However, I am a man of my word. I had made a commitment and I honor my commitments.

With that said, I look forward to the upcoming Aldermanic Forums which I will be attending. The question in this post’s title is “Mr John Quinn: Where Are Your Priorities?” I hope by now my priority is clear: the 41st Ward. I have resided here for 30 years, raised my two daughters here, and cannot imagine calling any other place home.

Schedules might change, plans may be set, but I assure you, our great ward will always be top priority to me.
