We don't need any more safety tips, winter tips and fluff. We need town hall meetings and advisory committees to work on real issues. Alderman O'Connor - don't be afraid to speak to the constituents about tough topics. You can't avoid us forever if you want to be re-elected.
But I do agree, that after six months in office, during such a great time of change in city administration, it is time for a "State of the Ward Address" and question/answer session. Everyone is curious about next steps and have many questions.
I agree. This is a very confusing time for everyone. Service cuts need to be expained in detail. Areas where there may be service improvements need to be discussed (like when can we expect our water and sewer infastructure changes - with specifics). We need to hear how our tax money will be reinvested in our neighborhood. When will the education advisory committee meet? What's being done with the alderman's menu budget? How is that money being spent. None of these things were addressed in the glossy newsletter that really told us little.
