  2. I see junkers in vans and trucks up and down the alleys every five minutes on my block - no markings on the trucks, no plates in some cases, and I'm wondering why people from outside of the neighborhood can roam around so freely? I saw one guy grab a bistro table and chairs from over the fence from my neighbor's yard. White van, no plates.

  3. I'm gonna puke if I see that idiot McCarthy on tv reporting "crime is down". Can't go shopping - out of control wildings and when you return, house or garage broken into.

Lets hire some police. Crime & criminals are out of control.

  4. The 16th district las lost over 300 cops in the last couple years. Down to 180 cops for three shifts everyday, not counting cops on vacation, off sick, in court etc. The cop shortage is critical. Don't believe what the spin doctors and media report, just look at the numbers of burglaries in the last month in the 16th - OUT OF CONTROL. The police have no control anymore, the criminals do.

  5. Can't ignore these patterns anymore. Less police in the 16th = increased crime in the 16th.

  6. Crime is a major problem all over the city. Don't believe what the Mayor and the Superintendent are spewing. Criminals are becoming more bold because they know police presence is way down, including gunning down cops. Spend money on police not a stupid, useless G8 summet.

  8. Hire more cops. Just a matter of time, one of these burglars is going to kill someone walking in on them.

  10. Does the writer of this blog support alternative programs for offenders of crime? If so, this is what you get. Fill the jails and throw away the keys. As far as an argument of costs, feed them one cup of rice a day. America.

  12. If the city can't protect its citizens, then we need laws that allow citizens to carry guns.

  13. I have today's Nadig Press in front of me - the burglaries in the 16th all over the crime reporting page. When is this going to be stopped?

  14. "...Offenders of crime." You mean 'criminals', don't you? You must have been hung over when you wrote that. I hope.

  15. It will not. Rahm has dispatched the police to the east coast, where his constituency of wealthy banksters live. Prediction - Rahm will offer tax breaks to home owners who install ADT alarms.

  16. Breaks my heart to see what has happened to Chicago as a whole, but more specifically, the 41st and 45th wards. Born and raised NWsider, but moved to Lake Co. 6 years ago. For much of that time I pined to move back, but couldn't afford to live there till the priced dropped from the ridiculous levels there were at when I was purchasing a house. Now, I have little desire to move back, especially with Sec 8 infesting those wards. I hope to convince my ma to move from 41, but doubt she will. Stay safe. These problems aren't going to go away unless the residents stick up for themselves, and continually voice their anger to the politicians.
