ReplyDeleteoh, goody, I can hardly wait
ReplyDeleteI can not believe this man has not been indicted
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Brian Doherty will be promoting his new paper route, "the 41st Ward News"?
ReplyDeleteI hope O'Connor shows up!
ReplyDeleteThis morning I was reminded of how destructive Daleys' support of NAFTA was when a mother walked past my building towing her child in a made-in- China Radio Flyer wagon. Of course that wagon used to be manufactured not far from our ward; on Grand av. In 2001-02 RF packed up the factory, but kept the Grand av site to recieve shipments of new wagons built 9000 miles away. The giant red wagon parked in front of the Grand av site gives the false impression that manufacturing still takes place there. Liars.
ReplyDeleteBack in 2001-02, Daley did nothing to persuade RF to remain here. Now Daley works in the private sector, praising China as an essential business partner. Traitor.
In Daleys' place the people have elected another NAFTA go-to guy from the 1990s, Rahm Emanual. Since NAFTA became law, the United States has lost 50,000 factories and 5 million factory jobs. That has not stopped Emanual from taking credit for landing 2700 new jobs since becoming mayor. He is just 4,997,300 jobs short of evening his score.
Perhaps Mayor Emanual should consider offering incentives to Radio Flyer to revive manufactoring on Grand av. Not a tax break, but a threat-either make your wagons in Chicago or the city imposes eminant domain; so that a legitimate factory can use that prime railroad- accessable facility. There is precedent. Frisbee recently announced it is closing their China plant and returning to the United States.
So what do you say Rahm? Or do you only bully female teachers?
