Got Paper? Recycle it!
2nd Annual
Neighborhood Paper Drive
Thirty percent of what Chicagoans throw away is paper, yet it is one of the most readily recyclable materials. Through the City of Chicago’s 2010 Neighborhood Paper Drive, over 61,000 pounds of paper were recycled resulting in a savings of 519 trees, 91 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions and 214,000 gallons of water. Help us beat our 2010 results by participating in the City of Chicago’s 2011 Neighborhood Paper Drive.Turn your paper into something valuable. Cash prizes ranging from $250 to $1,000 will be awarded to the neighborhood groups that collect the most of each paper type in addition to any revenues from the recyclables.
The Edgebrook Community Association is asking your help in collecting and recycling as much paper as possible. Mixed paper (junk mail, chipboard such as cereal boxes, white and colored paper, brown kraft paper bags, telephone books, newspapers, and magazines) will be collected from May 14 through May 31. Our neighborhood collection location is Ace Hardware at 5423 W. Devon Ave.
All paper with personal information should be collected and recycled at the Paper Shredding Event on June 25th at the United Center.
