Just a comment why only collect food for New Hope, what about the Food Pantry at Windy City Community Church that also services this area! There is not just one pantry but two in this area!
ReplyDeleteEveryone,

It looks like New Hope Food Pantry is open once/week and Windy City Church Food Pantry is open once a month.
ReplyDeleteStill should receive some of the donations, but perhaps one-quarter, instead of one-half
I have volunteered at a food pantry in the past and we were always in need of donations. If there are two food pantries in the ward, the donations should be divided and given to both

ReplyDeleteThe first of many screw-ups for O'Connor
ReplyDeleteI dropped off a few items at the dominicks location and they seemed to be doing well with the colection. I realize there wasn't much time to throw the event together, but next time, with a few weeks notice, I could make it a community service project for my son's boy scout troop. Good job!
ReplyDeleteDid the collection go to both food pantries?
ReplyDeleteI saw the volunteers at Happy Foods and they were doing a good job collecting stuff. I liked the idea of my donation helping someone who lives right in the neighborhood. We should do more neighbor helping neighbor events.
