  1. This was a critical campaign issue. The website should be up by now.

  2. Hire a web designer-lets get the show on the road

  3. I find myself clicking on blogs to get info about the city. I should be able to access an official ward website.

  5. There isn't a neighborhood paper anymore, no current up to date websites for Norwood Park. Where do you get info today?

  6. It's almost 3 months since alderman oconnor has taken office. This website should be up and running. She campaigned on this. Maybe one of her supposedly talented staff should be working on this. And why doesn't anyone in her office ever return phone calls? I emailed them in the middle of May and just got a response last week. Seems like it's politics as usual. At least with Doherty/Gavin we knew what they were

  7. I think O'Coonor has spent 3 months just beginning to clean up the neglect Doherty left after 20 years. Alleys, streets, parks, memorials, street lighting etc, doesn't just go bad in three months. On top of the 20 years of neglect that has to be addressed, there has been incredible amounts of damage from the recent storms. City resources are drying up, as the city budget deficit grows... What a mess.

  8. To 7:40: "At least with Doherty/Gavin we knew what they were". You're absolutely right, they could always be found out to lunch. I spent seventeen years trying to get a response out of Doherty's office with no result other than apathy - guess I just wasn't in with the in crowd. Time to stop dishing up yesterday's dirt and move forward.

  9. I agree with 7:58am I know there are many long term problems Doherty left including the lake outside my window. Our sewers have been screwed up for over a decade and calling Doherty about fixing the sewer was a waste of time.

  10. WHile I do think the new Alderman is overwhelmed with past and present ward problems, I do think a web designer could be hired, very simply, right away.

  11. OT: Chrysler has made a huge come back...why hasn't anyone re-opened the NEW CAR Chrysler dealership on Northwest Highway and Harlem? That used car place is an eye sore and lets face it people in the NW side don't buy used cars - we go to the suburbs for our new cars.

  12. Same story Politicians equal Bullst. The storms are on her watch. The lights on harlem have been off for three months on her watch. Motorcyclist killed on harlem, with no street lights. on her watch. you don't have a Lunch contract with the Park Distict anymore. Why do you need to make so many sandwiches? while trees are falling on our cars? soon she'll be blaming Bush too.

  13. You ask: Where is the 41st Ward Website? There is no 41st Ward Website.

  14. www.ward41.com has been nonoperational since May. When is someone going to put up a funcitonal website?

  15. "Welcome to what will soon be the 41st Ward’s very first virtual office"

The above is the first line on the www.ward41.com website - and it hasn't changed since the second week of May 2011.

Alderman O'Connor: This is an easy fire to put out.

  16. Give her a break, she was functionally elected by 25% of the ward. The othe 75% already knew the consequences of her election.

  17. This is concerning-I'm suprized Rahm hasn't done anything about this, since he is all about websites and transparency. Rahm put up a new website last week, asking citizens for their ideas for the budget.

  18. www.chicagobudget.org

Send the mayor your budget ideas

  19. I am a little disappointed. There is no local newspaper letting us know about community issues. There has been virtually no communication from the Alderman's office - and I don't even think we have an office in the neighborhood. Alderman, you need to do some outreach to the people that voted for you. Start your newsletter, do something that let's us know what is going on and what you are doing.

  20. Don't say anything bad about the alderman, because they won't post it.

  21. It doesn't exist just like all the promises the alderman made during her campaign

  22. Where's website? Where's office?
    Where's Alderman?

  23. My Mother asked me if she had a Website yet? I told her don't woory about it, you don't even own a computer, like all the other elderly in the ward who need the services.

  24. Quit being a cheapskate. Buy grandma a computer
