  1. I'm sitting here reading about the 4th of July and fireworks arrest thinking police resources will be redistributed to the lakefront on the 4th and we will be lucky to have one squad patrolling the entire 16th on the 4th.

    WE NEED MORE POLICE

  2. I'm surprised the CAPS office isn't insisting that a parent patrol needs to be formed and that this isn't "real" police work.

  3. "Police Increase Patrols in South End of District", front page news in todays Northwest Side Press. "Police have intensified patrols in the south portion of the 16th District, where there have been reports of gang-related graffiti and other crimes". We need more cops, is right.

  4. The police need to police themselves when it comes to illegal fireworks.

  5. Nothing to do in Chicago on the 4th...to dangerous to go to the beach, fireworks have been canceled/discontinued because of gang issues. Gangs run the city. I'm going to Wisconsin for the weekend, and will spend my vacation dollars there.

  6. 1:36pm- I understand. I tried to talk family and friends into visiting me in Chicago this summer and no one want to visit because of the violence. The Mayor needs to hire more police, and we need tougher sentencing for crimes committed.
