41st WARD COMMUNITY CLEANUP DAY
WHAT: Community Cleanup
WHEN: June 25, 2011 (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM)

As part of an effort to keep our neighborhoods vibrant and beautiful, my office will be coordinating a Community Cleanup Day in Edgebrook. This event will be the first in a series of events aimed at cleaning up our communities all throughout the 41st Ward.
Come join your neighbors and members of my staff as we spruce up the area around North Lehigh Avenue (between Touhy and Devon). My office will supply refreshments and all the necessary tools, all you need to do is show up and have a good time with your friends and neighbors. this is a good idea. How often will newsletters be sent out?
ReplyDeleteThis is a good first step. I have been reading about the sizable communications problem in the ward and think it will take a multifaceted approach to reach as many people as possible. An print newsletter, an email newsletter, an interactive website, press releases to local print papers and a list of community bulletin boards/places to post flyers is absolutely needed. Lastly, and most important - quarterly forums, rotated around the ward for opportunities to hear updates, news and ask the politicians questions about issues, votes, etc, are absolutely needed.

ReplyDeleteIs Alderman O'Connor planning to show-up at the 16th district beat meeting on tuesday July 12 at Oriole Park to address the issue of the proposed hookah lounge on Harlem? MANY people are very upset about this proposed lounge as they are now requesting a dance floor and a 5 o'clock license. I think it would be very wise of the alderman to put in an appearance
ReplyDeleteIt's been over 2 months since alderman oconnor has taken office and the website is not yet running. This was such a big point in the election yet nothing has been done.
