Hope this isn't going to be a glorified CAPS meeting where they tell us "crime is down", all is well and other assorted BS. Meanwhile, haven't seen a patrol car cruise down the street in over a year. I'm beginning to wonder if there are any cops left in the 16th? Has anyone seen one? I might go to this just to see what a CPD 16th District cop looks like.
ReplyDeleteThe 16th District is so big, it needs two town hall meetings. I really don't want to sit through a meeting about crime in portage park and the southern part of the 16th. I live in Oriole Park area, and am more interested in what's being done here. Why can't these meetings be done by ward or neighborhood, and I agree - no CAPS nonsense.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Clearpath (link below) for crime data and statistical reports.
ReplyDeleteThe link below is the report for the 16th District, 24th week of the year (11 June 2012 - 17 June 2012). Weekly reports are posted every Monday.

It looks like auto theft, felony theft, robberies remain crime problems for the 16th. Will we hear about more cops on the beat? Somehow I doubt it. We pay & pay and get robbed by more than the common criminal.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a "Town Hall" meeting when it's at the Copernicaus Center.
ReplyDeleteIt's a "build up the Polish Community ego meeting" due to the location.
Have the meeting in the 16th District parking garage, and then it's non biased.
Mary you just wasted 59,000.00 on a dog park with our 41st ward discretionary funds.
ReplyDeleteYou F-ed up. The money should have gone for youth summer jobs, after school music programs, or a hundred other things.
You are a true dog democrat
I hope all of you plan to come out to this meeting. I plan to be there to introduce myself and the new "Northside Ceasefire" group. We plan to write our own grant and submit it to the mayor to fund the program on the northside. The northside is not immune from violent crime and we need our fair share of help up here since the mayor won't hire cops. I'm sure hoping to receive a warm welcome from the local commander and the aldermen of course (who I assume will all be at this important meeting). Maybe I better bring donuts, just to be sure.
ReplyDeleteSee you on the 25th!
